To install Microsoft Office 365
Installation may take some time to complete, so be sure to start this process when you have some time.
- Open your web browser and go to the Microsoft Office Portal at https://login.microsoftonline.com.
- Enter your NetID@gfcmsu.edu where it says "Email, phone, or Skype" and click Next.
- Enter the password you use for Brightspace and Banner Web/MyInfo and click the Sign in button.
- Stay Signed In? If you are on a computer you own you can click Yes. If you are on a shared or public computer, be sure to click No.
- Near the top right corner of the page, click on Install Office and then click on Office 365 apps.
- Depending on the web browser you use, you will either be asked if you want to open
or save the installer, or it will automatically be downloaded into your Downloads
folder.
- Open or Save Prompt - Click Open and the installer will start automatically once it is downloaded.
- No Prompt - Open the Downloads folder on your PC and double-click on the installer file. The file will have a name similar to Microsoft_Office_xxxxx.exe.
- Click Yes, when prompted to allow changes to be made to this computer.
- Let the installer run. Installation may take some time, do not exit out of the installer until you receive a message that installation was successful.
